  1. Hello, the Finnabair moulds have finally arrived and boy they were worth the wait. There's 10 to choose from    and if you have never come across the Prima moulds before, the detail and quality of the silicone is the best I have ever come across.

The other thing which Anna (Finnabair) does is use as much of the mould as possible, so there's lots of smaller parts, like screw heads & cogs which are fantastic for adding in extra details and filling small gaps.
You can use, air drying clay, plaster of paris and my favourite, resin.
Resin gives you a hard embellishment, which is perfect for mixed media, a coat of Gesso (clear, black or white) will allow you to use paint, sprays, waxes etc for adding colour

They do work well together, as you can see in my rather unusual looking cat. It's all part of the fun to place things together to see what you can make, I shall leave you with photo, let me know what you think :)

  2. Hello, welcome to the start of our brand new blog for all the news, tutorials and sharing makes for your inspiration, we welcome any suggestions for content and please ask as many questions as you wish.

Here at Artful Days, we love mixed media, creating 3D projects, as well as art journaling, making tags, ATC's, altered art and art assemblage.

We have just launched another set of stencils and chipboards, they have been designed for both marking making and mixed media backgrounds, but are perfect for all the fore mentioned crafts.

One of the items I have been wanting for a while is ATC chipboard blanks, they are a very versatile as you can use them for trading with your friends, making mini art, quick makes but also fun to incorporate into larger projects too.

Each one of the cards below were coloured by pressing into the gelli plate, after printing with the stencils. This leaves a ghosting print, then you can take your stencil, line up to trace inside the stencil with a white gel pen to make the designs stand out. I have embossed all the chippies using Wow powders, it's a really effective way of colouring them and giving a lovely gloss or glittered finish. I used the lines stencil with black ink to make marks. Finished with a few extra element.

I'm really pleased with how these have turned out, they are quick to make, the colours are uplifting and are the perfect size for trialing layouts and practicing techniques
